Memorial Day 2025
Residents throughout the Mon Valley including McKeesport, White Oak and West Mifflin honored their veterans on Memorial Day by laying wreaths, attending parades, listening to speeches or pausing for a moment of silence. Originally know as Decoration Day, it became a federal holiday in 1971 to remember those who died while serving in the U.S military.
